Boerne In-Home Photography | the Claflin’s

In-home photography will always have a strong hold over my heart. There is something truly unique and special about being invited into someones space to capture them as they truly are. It doesn't matter if the home is a little lived in or not “Pinterest” worthy, because the photos are never about that. The photos are about pausing time and remembering life in the mundane, here and now. Emily and Brennan both grew up in Boerne and after a brief stint in Austin, decided to come back to the place they call home.

They were always planning to come back at some point, but a business opportunity for Brennan brought them back a little sooner. They both talked about how much they love the growth of Main Street and all of the new things to do in town, since they graduated high school. “Boerne is our home and it is good to be back.”

It was such an honor to be invited into Brennan and Emily’s Boerne home to photograph and celebrate all the new in their lives: their new marriage, new home and new puppy. There is an ease in the photographs that reflect this simple and happy time together. If you are as OBSESSED with their home as I am, Emily mentioned it is conveniently furnished from target and amazon.

Some words from the couple…

What did you love about your session?

We loved how you made the process so relaxed and fun! Because you used movements instead of poses, we felt so much more natural and the photos came out so amazing. You really did capture the sweetest moments! We felt relived that we didn’t look awkward (like we usually do, haha). We loved looking though the photos together and being able to see us looking natural, comfortable, and in love!

What did you think about doing an in-home session?

We love that we now have these photos showing the sweetest moments of us in our early stages of marriage with out new home and little family! The photos that we got are incredibly priceless and really show our current life stage. We also really loved how easy it was!

What advice do you have for couples thinking about doing an in-home session?

Our advice would be not to worry about feeling awkward or nervous about the way you will look. We were definitely worried that we would look overly posed/stiff but by using movements you helped make each photo look so natural and fun. The laughs were definitely real and the photos look so amazing! It’s crazy that we look (almost, haha) like pros!
